Uptech Journey

Everyone around me is struggling. And I don’t just mean IT people worried about AI.

I talk to people every day. My clients in the US managing construction projects. Property managers in Canada. A shopkeeper in my street. A teacher. A contractor.

Same story everywhere. Different industry, different country, same pain.

The world shifted. Hard. And most of us are just trying to figure out how to move with it.

So let me go first.

A few months ago, I was seriously thinking about closing everything. Uptech. The institute. All of it.

I sat with that thought for a while. Then I looked around at what I actually had. Furniture. Computer systems. A solar setup. A trained team. An office space I had spent years building.

If I close, all of this disappears. And honestly? I don’t know anything else.

So the question wasn’t whether to move. It was where to move without wasting what I had already bled for.

I have been running an institute on a very small scale for the last 3 years. Last year I expanded it to a bigger space with serious marketing on Meta ads. I even spent over 1 million PKR in a single month on ads. When the marketing worked and the process was tested, we made the decision to go bigger. This month we are opening our 2nd campus with formal education, matric and intermediate. A proper college. Because I am now moving towards educational business, not just short courses.

I didn’t even waste my developers. Same people. Now teaching courses.

Nothing thrown away. Just redirected.

That’s the only kind of pivot that makes sense to me. Not burning everything down and starting over. Shifting strategically so that what you sacrificed for doesn’t go to waste.

Now your turn.

It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in or what country you’re sitting in right now. How are you coping with whatever shift you’re navigating?

Wishing each other luck isn’t enough anymore. Let’s actually share what’s working.
