Remember that excited post from December 2024 where I announced “2025 is The Content Year!”?
I had these big plans:
Daily office content
Memes and tutorials
Cameras rolling at Uptech
Show the world our real culture
What I Actually Delivered:
Posts about losing our biggest client
Posts about downsizing 30%
Posts about tough business decisions
Posts about surviving, not thriving
The Uncomfortable Truth:
This year didn’t go how I planned. At all.
We named it “The Content Year” but it became “The Survival Year.”
Clients? Struggled to get new ones.
Finances? Barely keeping things stable.
Goals? Most of them are still sitting in my notes app, untouched.
Everything just felt… stuck.
What Actually Happened:
We moved to a new office. Sounds like progress, right?
It tightened our finances badly.
We shifted our entire focus to our NAVTTC-based institute. This wasn’t a small decision, it was a complete pivot.
We increased capacity from 20 students to 200 students. Bought computer systems. Created all the institute content from scratch. Set up everything.
And you know what? The institute work actually went well.
Our first batch numbers:
5000+ leads generated
2000+ calls made by our support team
800+ students registered
50% appeared in NTS test
Those are solid numbers. The institute side was working.
The Truth I Don’t Want to Admit:
I chose institute growth over personal brand building.
Not because one was more important. But because the institute demanded immediate attention every single day.
My content strategy? It sat in the background waiting for me to find time.
And you know what happens to things waiting for “when I have time.” They never happen.
What I Did Learn:
My writing improved this year. I can feel it when I write these posts. My storytelling got better and more honest.
But it still needs more work and I’m aware of that.
I also learned something else: you can be succeeding in one area while completely failing in another. The institute grew, but my personal brand building stayed at zero.
What About 2026?
I’m calling it The Content Year again.
Not because I failed in 2025. But because I’m not giving up on this.
This time I’m not waiting for everything to settle down first. Things never fully settle in business anyway, we all know that.
The institute will keep running its batches. Uptech will keep working. And I’ll create content alongside everything else, not after everything is “perfect.”
My Real Goals for 2026:
Keep improving my storytelling because I know I can do better.
Actually start those cameras rolling, even if the office isn’t Instagram-perfect.
Share the real journey, the messy parts included, for both institute and Uptech.
Stop waiting for the “right time” because honestly there is no right time.
Build real consistency this time, even on days when I’m exhausted.
Final Thought:
Thanks for reading my posts this year even when they weren’t regular, even when I was clearly in survival mode instead of content creation mode.
2025 taught me something important: you can’t build a personal brand by accident while focusing on other things. You have to actually make time for it, just like everything else that matters in business.
So here’s to 2026. The Content Year, take two. This time for real.

Editor’s note, Oct 2026: the second campus opened in May 2026 and operations started on 1 July 2026. Uptech is now an FBISE-affiliated college (Matric and Intermediate) alongside skills courses.
