Really? Because I have been trying to fill ONE job for 2 months. And I can’t.
We need a janitor at our college in PWD. Simple role. Decent salary.
Here’s what actually happened in these 2 months:
One person came, saw the work, and said “washroom nahi saaf karoon ga.” A janitor. Who won’t clean washrooms.
Another agreed to everything except glass cleaning. That was somehow beneath him.
Two or three said yes to everything, took the details, confirmed the joining date… and never showed up. No call. No message. Just gone.
Two months. One vacancy. Zero hires.
And then I open Facebook and see: “Pakistan mein jobs hi nahi hain.”
Jobs are there. What’s missing is the willingness to actually do them.
Let me be very clear about one thing: cleaning is respectable work. Any halal kamai is respectable. The person who cleans our office deserves the same izzat as the person who codes in it. That is not the issue.
The issue is this idea that money should come easy.
You know what is funny? Even I am not earning easy money. I’ve invested millions into this business. And every single morning I walk in to a new problem. Landlord issues. Electricity theft. Client lost. Policy changed. Every. Single. Day.
Nobody handed me anything. There is no easy money at the top, and there is no easy money at the bottom.
There is only work. Done properly, showed up for, every day.
So the next time someone tells you there are no jobs in Pakistan, ask them: is there really no job? Or is there no job that pays a lot for doing a little?
Because I have one open right now. Two months and counting.
